Mushroom report for the Pilar long weekend: 10 to 12 October
Chanterelles in Girona: 50 areas at their best
With the forecast of Saturday 10 October.
For the long weekend there are 96 areas at their best and another 922 where something is stirring, out of the 19,292 we follow. Over the last two weeks it has really rained in Girona (about 132 mm), Barcelona (about 96 mm) and Asturias (about 95 mm); elsewhere, little or nothing. And no rain is expected that would change things before Sunday. By the calendar it is already the season for porcini, bronze boletes, saffron milk caps and Caesar's mushrooms, and the season for charbonniers is about to begin. A week ago there were 20 areas; the woods are picking up.
