Mushroom report for the weekend: 19 and 20 September

First Caesar's mushrooms in Lugo and Asturias

With the forecast of Saturday 19 September.

Of the 19,292 areas we follow, 57 are starting to stir ahead of the weekend, though none is at its best yet. Over the last two weeks it has really rained in Barcelona (about 43 mm), Girona (about 31 mm) and Asturias (about 20 mm); elsewhere, little or nothing. And no rain is expected that would change things before Sunday. By the calendar it is already the season for porcini, bronze boletes, saffron milk caps and Caesar's mushrooms, and the season for yellowfoot is about to begin. A week ago there were 117 areas: the window is closing.
