Privacy policy

This page is a translation. In the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

micomapa has no sign-up, no forms and no accounts, and keeps no personal data. The only thing it measures is visits, with Google Analytics.

What data is processed

• Like any website, the server that hosts it logs technical data about each visit (IP address, date, page requested and browser) in order to work and stay secure. This data is kept for no longer than strictly necessary for that purpose, is not used for anything else and is not disclosed to anyone unless required by law. Hosting is provided by OVHcloud in data centres in the European Union.
• If you press "Where am I", your exact position is used only on your device, to mark it on the map. The server is asked only for the forecast for the zone you fall within, a square of about 5 km, just as for any other page: your position is neither sent nor stored.
• To display the pages and the map, your browser downloads fonts, libraries and map tiles from Google Fonts, jsDelivr, OpenFreeMap and the Spanish National Geographic Institute (Instituto Geográfico Nacional), which receive your IP address when serving them.

Measuring visits

Visits are measured with Google Analytics 4, from Google Ireland Limited, acting as data processor. Your browser sends it the page you are looking at, the language, the kind of device and an approximate location worked out from your IP address; Google does not store that address. Advertising and ad-profiling features are switched off, so what is measured feeds no adverts. Google keeps it for fourteen months at most. Saved zones

If you save zones, your browser makes a random identifier and keeps it; under it, the list of zones you have marked and the day you marked them is stored. There is no account, no name and no email, and a zone is a square of about 5 km of the public map, never an exact spot. The list lives in the same OVHcloud storage as the rest of the service, in the European Union, and deletes itself after a year untouched. You can delete the whole of it whenever you like from My zones.

Legal basis

The legitimate interest in the site working and being secure (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, object to its processing, restrict it and request its portability, and to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
